Here are some questions that you may be asking yourself,
and some that we have had from other guests.
How do I check that the dates and accommodation I
want are available?
Easy just start by looking at the “availability” page for
your chosen chalet. Remember that the website isn’t updated until a
deposit has been received from the customer, so even though the chalet may not
be shown as booked on the website, the dates may have been reserved.
Please try to have an alternative date or chalet in mind when you enquire.
Then simply email, phone or text to ask if your dates are
available. Email
Linda@kingfisherselfcatering.com, call or text 07913016028, or call 0844
4125718.
You will need to give your contact details, size of your
party and number of pets before your reservation can be made.
How far ahead can I book?
This is up to you. If you want to book for next year or the
year after, that’s fine. Your holiday price will be held at this year’s price.
Can all male/all female parties be accommodated?
The holiday park is a quiet, family orientated site;
therefore the only all male/all female bookings that we will accept are same sex
couples.
Can I get there by Public transport?
Yes. National Express coaches run into Caernarfon from many
cities. From there it’s a short bus or taxi ride. There is a bus
stop outside the site. Once on site there is a small shop for your essentials, a
“Spar” type garage just 10 minutes walk from the site, or there are shops in
Caernarfon (including Tesco and Morrison’s) to stock up. A taxi ride into
Caernarfon is less than 2 miles, just a few pounds. There is a children’s play
area, outdoor swimming pool on the site. There is plenty to do a short
bus/taxi ride away – Caernarfon castle, the leisure centre, pony trekking,
go-carting, trains up to the summit of Snowdon. Pubs, coffee bars and
restaurants can all be found in Caernarfon. There are buses to Bangor, Pwllheli,
Porthmadog, Llandudno, Llangefni(Anglesey), Dinas Dinlle(Beach), Snowdon. To
explore the area for £4 for a day (£2 child), why not try the Snowdon Sherpa
Buses. You can hop on and off all day, stopping where the fancy takes you.

Once I’ve booked – what should I do?
Your chosen chalet/dates will be reserved for a period of 7
days whilst your deposit is received. The website will not show your dates as
“booked” until your deposit has been received. If your deposit is not received
within these 7 days, you will receive a reminder via telephone, email or post.
If your deposit is still not received, your holiday will be put back on sale.
Do you do short breaks?

75% and 5 nights 85%. For a quote please contact the numbers given or email

how much your balance is, and when it should be paid.
What should I do with my paperwork?
Once you have received your information pack, check it over
carefully. If the dates on your booking confirmation are wrong, or there are any
other mistakes, you should notify Kingfisher Self Catering Holidays immediately
on the numbers shown.
Put your paperwork in a safe place as it contains your
directions, instructions and contact numbers for emergencies. You will need to
take it with you on holiday. If there are any questions you would like to ask
about the accommodation, the site or the area, then phone or email. We want to
ensure that you enjoy your holiday, and that you have all the information that
you need before you set off.
Can I change the number/names of people in my party?
We realise that circumstances change and we like to be
flexible, so as long as you inform us of the changes then the answer will
normally be “yes”, BUT YOU MUST ASK FIRST. There is an admin charge for changing
bookings. The maximum occupancy of 7 persons (Sun Haven Lodge)
including babies (6 in Millstream and Riverview, 4 In Riverside and the Lakeview Chalet) must not be exceeded at any time, as
the chalet insurance will not be valid. Therefore, if you exceed the maximum
occupancy then you will be asked to terminate your holiday. You are not
allowed to set up tents outside any of the chalets to increase the number of
people in your party.
Can I have my parents to stay for a couple of nights
during my holiday?
There is no objection to occasional guests, provided that
you inform us first and as stated above, you do not exceed the maximum
occupancy of your chalet. If you do exceed the maximum occupancy of your chalet
you will invalidate the chalet insurance and you will be asked to terminate your
holiday.
What if I have to cancel? Can I take out travel
insurance?
You must le us know as soon as possible, and then confirm
in writing that you wish to cancel. You may forfeit you deposit and/or your
balance. See the Terms and conditions page for full details.
We can sell you cancellation insurance – Please ask for a
leaflet to be sent with your information pack.
Can I hire baby equipment?
Unfortunately, due to the Health and Safety and insurance
issues surrounding baby equipment hire, we are unable to supply baby equipment
at this time. We are hoping to resolve this situation in the near future. There
is a baby gate available for each chalet, please ask at time of booking.
How do I pick up the key to my accommodation?
Full instructions will be given in your information pack.
What do I need to take?

with disabled facilities are within walking distance of the beach. Over on

Are the chalets suitable for disabled people?
We want to be as accessible and welcoming to all guests as
possible. Disabilities vary widely. Having a ramp outside a property does not in
itself make it “wheelchair friendly”.
Each chalet has different access and different facilities.
Please feel free to ask for advice before you book. We will be completely
honest about the facilities or the difficulties you might find in the chalets.
Every effort will be made to accommodate your needs. The River View chalet is
reached up a flight of 12 steps and a small incline, and would not be suitable
for our less mobile guests.
It is acceptable to drive to the clubhouse from the
chalets, and there is parking outside the main facilities.
Are the chalets all pet friendly?
Yes. Pets are welcome by arrangement, provided that they
are well behaved, are not left unattended, not allowed on beds and you pick up
any dog mess immediately. Furniture “throws” are available, on request, but you
must bring your own dog bed.
If you are allergic to dogs please bare in mind that whilst
the chalets are thoroughly cleaned between holidays, there are no guarantees
that all pet hairs will be removed.
Is the site pet friendly?
Yes, the site is ideal for walking your pets, but they must
be kept on a lead at all times on the park, and you must put mess in the dog
bins provided around the site. Some areas such as the children’s play area are a
no-go area for dogs.
Can I smoke in the chalets?
Sorry – all chalets are non-smoking.
What facilities are there on site? Will I have to
pay?
There is plenty of parking around the site, free of charge.
The park has a children’s play area, launderette, takeaway,
hairdresser, games room, bar and shop. There is also an outdoor swimming pool.
These are all free for you to use during your stay (open seasonally).
The gymnasium and on site fishing attract a small charge.
(Enquire at reception) In addition you must buy a rod licence from the Post
Office to fish on site. You can by a one day or 8 day licence to use during your
stay. There is a Post Office in Caernarfon.
Each chalet has a spiral-bound book of local attractions
for adults and children alike to visit in any weather. There are lots of things
to do if it rains, there is a leisure centre in Caernarfon for swimming, an
indoor children’s fun centre, Indoor rock climbing, the sea zoo, indoor go
carts, and lots more.
Will I be able to see the water from my chalet?
The “Millstream” chalet has the best uninterrupted view of
the river. The “riverside” chalet is raised above the river about 15 feet, and
is nestled in the trees, so there are some branches in the way, but is a
fabulous riverside location. The “Riverview” chalet is higher above the river,
still among the trees, but is more secluded. All these chalets have decked areas
and patio furniture to sit out and enjoy the water. They all have double patio
doors to be able to sit indoors and listen to the babbling river outside. The
Lakeview chalet is not lakeside, but has a good view of the lake between the row
of chalets to the front.
I want a quiet chalet, which one should I choose?
The Riverview and Lakeview chalets have the quietest
locations. Riverview is at the end of a row up a flight of steps, and is not
directly overlooked. There is nothing but trees behind the chalet. Lakeview is
similarly at the end of a row, and has a grassed area to the back. None of the
chalets are near the reception, play area or clubhouse.
What do I do if I have a problem during my stay?
A full list of instructions are included in your
information pack, along with contact telephone numbers if there is a problem
with the chalet or with the site. These numbers are also displayed in the
chalet. If there is anything you are unsure about during your stay – just ask.
What if I break something?
Accidents happen! All we ask is that you replace the item
with a similar one, so that the next holidaymakers are not inconvenienced.
How do I return my key?
A postage paid envelope will be sent to you. All you need
to do is take it to a Post Office at the end of your stay and obtain a receipt.
When will my “good housekeeping” deposit be returned
to me?
Once your key has arrived back safely (or proof of posting
if the key has been lost in the post), and the chalet has been inspected in good
order after your stay, your deposit will be returned within 6 weeks of your
stay, usually much sooner.
I stayed on Glan Gwna during my childhood – has it
changed much?
The site has undergone some re-development. The pool and
bar area is bright and modern. The children’s play area has been relocated to
the back of the pool area. There is no longer a touring field and many chalets
have been replaced with new caravans, but the site still remains a beautiful,
well run spot to relax and have a family holiday. Kingfisher Self Catering
Holidays has modernised all our chalets to ensure that they are bright,
comfortable and well equipped.
