As dog
owners ourselves we understand that your dogs are
part of the family, and therefore you want them to
be part of your holiday, too. Why spend you
holiday fretting about your dogs left in kennels?
Gone are the
days when dogs were banned from just about
everywhere - you'd be surprised how may places you
can take your dogs - even some of the local
historical monuments accept dogs on leads, including
Criccieth Castle and the Segontium Roman Fort. Dogs
are also welcome on the Ffestiniog Welsh Highland
trains and the Llanberis Lake Railway.
At
Kingfisher Self Catering Holidays we aim to be dog
friendly - not just "dog tolerant"! Dog
owners are valued guests, not an inconvenience to be
"put up" with, and we aim to provide top quality
accommodation for all our guest both two and four
legged.
All our
chalets and lodges welcome your dogs. We don't put a
strict "Limit" on the number of dogs per property,
but we do suggest that you have a chat with us
before you book so that we can be sure you get the
most comfortable accommodation for your stay.
The
accommodation is as practical as possible without
compromising on comfort or style. All
accommodation (except Lakeview) has a fully enclosed
decked balcony, so you can sit out and enjoy the
surroundings without worrying about your four legged
friend wandering off.
Dog food and
water bowls, beach towels, doggy beach toys (Tennis
balls and a frisbee), "poop" bags and a dog-walking
torch for late night walks are provided in each
chalet. We ask that you bring your dogs own
bedding. This will help them settle into their
new "home from home".
Local
information on dog friendly pubs, restaurants,
walks, beaches and vets/day boarding kennels is
provided in the accommodation, but please feel free
to give us a call and discuss where you can take
your dogs to make the most of your holiday.
The Holiday
Park itself is great for taking your dogs for a
stroll. You can walk beside the lake or along
the river, and doggy bins are provided at convenient
intervals. The Park is close to some great dog
friendly beaches. Most beaches have "doggy"
and "non doggy" areas, all year round. The
beach at Dinas Dinelle is just 6 miles away and is a
dog walkers paradise, with miles of sandy beach.
This is our personal favourite, and we spend many
hours watching the dogs dashing in and out of the
waves and chasing their tennis ball. We are also
about 1 and a half miles from the footpath which
runs right alongside the Menai Straits. This
is a fantastic place to walk the dogs, especially in
the evening as you get the added bonus of some
spectacular sunsets.
Snowdon and
all the walks the area has to offer is just a 10
minute car ride away.
We
understand how hard it can be to find good
accommodation that welcomes your whole family and
your dogs. However, to ensure the comfort of all our
guests Both dog lovers and non dog lovers) for years
to come, we do have a few simple house rules with
regard to out doggy guests. We would also like
to remind you of some useful tips for a safe and
happy holiday. It’s important to point out that
taking a dog friendly holiday does not mean taking a
holiday from your responsibilities as a dog owner.
Please keep
your dogs on a lead and clean up immediately after
them whilst on the park.
Even though
your dogs may be perfectly behaved at home, being in
a new place can stress them out, so to avoid undue
anxiety to your dogs and to make sure they don't
chew or scratch any of the chalet furniture, dogs
are not allowed to be left unaccompanied in the
accommodation. (unless your dogs are accustomed to
crates/cages and you bring these with you).
There are many pubs and restaurants locally with
outdoor beer gardens which encourage you to take
your dogs with you. The Snowdonia Parc is one
of our dog-friendly favourites - the locations is
lovely and they even brew their own excellent beer!
You must
clean the accommodation thoroughly before you leave,
including any hairs from the carpets. A good
quality vacuum is provided for your use in each
chalet. If you don't leave the chalet clean
and tidy you will be charged for any extra cleaning
that is required. Fortunately we have very
rarely had to impose this condition on any of our
guests.
Dogs are not
allowed on furniture but sofa throws are provided
and we ask that you use them if you think that your
dogs may sneak onto the furniture.
Dogs are not
allowed in the bedrooms under any circumstances.
We provide a baby gate in each chalet and we ask
that you use it to keep your dogs out of the
bedrooms if necessary.
For the
comfort and convenience of other holidaymakers on
the Park, please don't allow you dogs to cause a
nuisance by barking.
